This program provides low-income women receiving prenatal and postpartum care through community clinics and public health departments hands-on support and education for breastfeeding by peer counselors in a culturally relevant and appropriate manner. Contact us for a referral to a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.
We also offer Breastfeeding Education Classes, both group and individual lessons are available.
We also offer a training for persons who would like to become a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. This 20-hour training will enable the participant to gain knowledge about cultural awareness, skills to address barriers to breastfeeding in targeted communities, and education and practical skills to help pregnant and postpartum women initiate and sustain breastfeeding.
